Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Robotics Systems Engineer to join our team at Amazon. As a key member of our robotics team, you will be responsible for designing, building, and delivering end-to-end robotic systems that meet the needs of our customers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Define and expand the design space for complex robotics and automation problems
  • Analyze cross-functional tradeoffs between design alternatives, including performance, schedule, cost, risk, complexity, and scale
  • Break down and frame problems using concept of operations, use cases, and system representations
  • Identify design choices to ensure products are safe, reliable, and usable
  • Perform technical risk assessments and devise mitigation plans
  • Define and refine metrics for measuring performance and success/failure rates
  • Build quantitative models and analyses to conduct trade studies and refine requirements
  • Develop and communicate system integration and evaluation strategies
  • Drive and prioritize execution of system test campaigns
Requirements
  • 7+ years of experience with eliciting and clarifying business and end-user needs
  • Experience leading technical collaborations and creating alignment across diverse groups
  • Experience identifying and analyzing dependencies, tradeoffs, and sensitivities across multi-disciplinary systems
  • BS or equivalent in Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science, or related field
Preferred Qualifications
  • 9+ years of experience in integrated system design
  • Experience with industrial robotics and automated manipulation solutions
  • Experience with machine learning systems
  • Experience with developing scalable and safety-critical systems
