The role of the IT Asset Management Specialist involves a variety of responsibilities aimed at ensuring the effective management of IT assets within the organization.

Key Responsibilities


• Coordinate and communicate effectively to document and track the progress of various initiatives.


• Demonstrate familiarity with project management principles to enhance workflow.


• Address management's requests for detailed asset information promptly.


• Maintain and prepare Chain of Custody documentation for all end-of-life equipment designated for surplus.


• Ensure proper disposal of surplus equipment in compliance with regulatory requirements.


• Recommend and schedule IT asset replacements, upgrades, and enhancements.


• Develop and document processes related to IT asset installations, relocations, and modifications.


• Provide technical guidance for procurement documents and assist in preparing agency requisitions.


• Respond to Service Desk tickets that require Level 2 asset management expertise.


• Analyze, recommend, and implement new phases of the ServiceNow Asset Management module.


• Process updates and reconciliations in ServiceNow based on physical inventory reports.


• Offer Level 2 troubleshooting and technical problem resolution for PC hardware, software, and peripherals, utilizing ServiceNow for issue tracking.


• Utilize Microsoft Systems Center Configuration Manager to generate hardware and software reports.


• Create comprehensive documentation for both technical staff and end users.


• Employ Microsoft Systems Center Configuration Manager for imaging laptop and desktop hardware.


• Exhibit familiarity with video conferencing platforms and troubleshooting conference room setups.


• Demonstrate knowledge of VMware Virtual Desktop Infrastructure.


• Utilize AirWatch WorkspaceOne for administrative tasks, including reporting and compliance for modern managed Windows devices.
