Job Title: Vice President of Retail

About the Role:

The Vice President of Retail will be responsible for leading the Retail Division at Tandy Leather Factory, Inc. This includes managing the overall strategy and direction of the retail business, as well as overseeing the day-to-day operations of our 100+ retail stores globally.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute detailed plans to maximize sales and profitability across all retail stores.
  • Collaborate with the Executive Leadership Team to evaluate and assess real estate opportunities and drive decision-making.
  • Work with Human Resources to grow the internal talent pipeline and develop an external recruiting strategy.
  • Manage and grow retail training programs, including leathercrafting, product knowledge, customer service, and sales training.
  • Develop and execute new retail standards for housekeeping, labor scheduling, customer experience, inventory management, and day-to-day retail operations.
  • Collaborate with Marketing and Product Management to develop and execute visual merchandising standards and store upgrades.
  • Support Marketing in developing and executing a new customer loyalty program.
  • Recruit, develop, manage, motivate, and retain excellent retail talent.

Essential Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of direct retail management experience, preferably in specialty retail.
  • Must have direct P&L responsibility as a multi-manager for at least 3-5 years.
  • Proven experience in managing a large retail organization through significant change.
  • Personal leadership qualities, including integrity, fairness, open-mindedness, and respect for all employees.
  • Highly collaborative, with the ability to work in partnership with all levels of the organization.
