Key Responsibilities

Peraton is on the lookout for a highly skilled individual to take on the role of Lead Systems Administrator for our Cyber Operations team. This position plays a crucial role in supporting various military and governmental operations, ensuring that our IT infrastructure is robust and secure.

Our mission is to provide a comprehensive suite of centralized IT services and infrastructure, focusing on compliance with cybersecurity standards for our networks. The team is dedicated to continuously enhancing and utilizing cutting-edge technologies and best practices to optimize capabilities and support critical missions.

Your primary duties will include:

  • Acting as the main point of contact for senior stakeholders regarding daily system administration.
  • Ensuring operational performance metrics are met, including cybersecurity standards and system uptime.
  • Collaborating with engineering teams to facilitate the smooth transition of projects into operational phases.
  • Planning and implementing cybersecurity updates across all relevant systems.
  • Maintaining current certifications and accreditations for systems and networks.
  • Providing insights and recommendations for innovative and efficient technologies.
  • Applying security principles and procedures to uphold compliance with relevant regulations.
Qualifications

Essential Requirements:

  • A Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience (additional experience may substitute for educational qualifications).
  • Proven track record in leading large-scale system administration projects within the Department of Defense, with a strong understanding of IT operations.
  • A fully adjudicated Top Secret security clearance with eligibility for Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI).
  • Relevant certifications as outlined in DoD 8570 Baseline Information Assurance Technical (IAT)-II level.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Over five years of experience managing IT teams across multiple locations, focusing on the operation and maintenance of servers, operating systems, databases, and collaboration tools.
  • Current MCSE Certification or equivalent credentials.
  • Experience with cloud computing solutions and virtual desktop environments.

Salary Range

$135,000 - $216,000, reflecting the typical compensation for this role based on experience and qualifications.
