POSITION SUMMARY:
This management role is responsible for overseeing and coordinating the operations of the Housing Choice Voucher Program. This includes managing admissions, ongoing occupancy, property inspections, landlord contract compliance, and the intake process for the Housing Choice Voucher and related programs. The goal is to ensure the delivery of precise information, responsive customer service, and adherence to program requirements.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Supervise assigned staff and implement agency policies and departmental procedures.
- Monitor and oversee activities necessary for the successful execution of a high-performing Housing Choice Voucher Program.
- Ensure compliance with HUD SEMAP criteria and SLHA policies through effective management of:
- Annual re-certifications of client eligibility.
- Accurate calculations of annual adjusted income for clients.
- Correct determination of tenant rent for each client.
- Proper selection of clients from the waiting list.
- Maintenance of voucher utilization rates in line with high performance standards.
- Organization of client files in strict adherence to SLHA file organization protocols.
ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:
- Ability to prepare and supervise all internal and external reports, monitor delinquent reports, and conduct monthly internal audits of client files.
- Examine monthly printouts to ensure accuracy of HAP payments, resolving discrepancies in collaboration with the Finance Division.
- Assist in the preparation of reports required by HUD and the SLHA Board of Commissioners to ensure timely submissions.
- Demonstrate effective communication skills, both written and verbal, and conduct reviews and investigations as needed.
- Proficient in data processing systems and Microsoft Word and Excel, with the ability to train staff on these tools.
- Capable of managing multiple tasks simultaneously while meeting deadlines.
