Job Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Substation Engineer to join our team at 347 Group, Inc. This is an excellent opportunity for a self-directed Electrical Engineer who is eager to take on new challenges and contribute to the success of our company.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the technical execution of projects, ensuring knowledge and execution of technical aspects and deliverables.
  • Develop a partnership with the Project Manager, responsible for scope, schedule, budget, and client management.
  • Assign project tasks and provide technical guidance to team members.
  • Coordinate and perform quality checks and reviews for all project deliverables, adhering to Quality Management Systems requirements.
  • Perform quality checks and reviews of projects from other teams as needed.
  • Ability to work independently and direct, mentor, and train Electrical Engineers, Graduate Engineers, and Drafters.
  • Ability to work on and lead multiple projects concurrently.
  • Assist with developing technical papers and/or presentations that showcase technical capabilities at industry events.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, or Master's degree desired.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) certification required.
  • 10+ years of technical experience with high voltage electrical switchyard and substation projects, including conceptual knowledge of physical, electrical, civil, and structural design components.
  • Specific experience performing aspects associated with substation design, including substation layouts, plans, sections, and details, grounding, lighting protection, control building arrangement, conduit plans, and details.
  • Strong computer skills, including AutoCAD, MicroStation, Microsoft Office, and electrical design software.
  • Previous experience in distribution systems, substation, and power facilities design and engineering is required.
  • Experience working in an architectural/engineering or engineering consulting firm desired.
  • Previous experience consulting or working for an electric utility considered a plus.
