Appeals and Grievances Supervisor

Our client in Downtown Los Angeles is seeking an Appeals and Grievances Supervisor to join their team in a mostly remote role with occasional on-site work.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Supervise and support a team handling appeals and grievances, ensuring thorough investigations and timely resolutions.
  • Lead and direct team work, monitoring research, negotiation, and resolution of appeals and grievances.
  • Provide support and ownership for escalated, complex, and multi-issue appeals and grievances.
  • Analyze and trend appeals and grievances, developing and maintaining policies, procedures, and workflows.
  • Oversee team operations, including hiring, supervising, coaching, training, and motivating direct reports.
  • Work after hours, on weekends, holidays, and adapt to changing priorities, including redistributed work assignments and team projects.
Requirements:
  • 3+ years' experience in healthcare settings in grievances and appeals, compliance, claims, or call centers.
  • 2+ years' experience leading processes, programs, or staff, or supervisory experience.
  • Ability to manage and organize large volumes of data.
  • Knowledge of regulatory and accreditation entities and their requirements.
  • Good working knowledge of licensure and regulatory requirements, and accreditation standards.
  • Computer ease and literacy with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, and Visio).
