Job Title: Medical Director-Medicaid Appeals and Optimization

We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Director to lead our Medicaid Appeals and Optimization team. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for ensuring that our members receive the most cost-effective and appropriate medical care.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead Medicaid appeal reviews and primary utilization management reviews to ensure timely and consistent responses to members and providers.
  • Develop and implement programs to improve quality, cost, and outcomes.
  • Provide clinical consultation and serve as a clinical/strategic advisor to enhance clinical operations.
  • Identify cost of care opportunities and develop strategies to address them.
  • Serve as a resource to staff, including Medical Director Associates.
  • May be responsible for an entire clinical program.
Requirements:
  • MD or DO degree and Board certification approved by one of the following certifying boards: American Board of Medical Specialties (ABMS) or American Osteopathic Association (AOA).
  • Active unrestricted medical license to practice medicine or a health profession in California.
  • Minimum of 10 years of clinical experience; or any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background.
  • Board certification in Family Medicine (with Ob Experience), Emergency Medicine, Med/Peds, or Ob/Gyn strongly preferred.
