About the Role:

Ligand Pharmaceuticals is seeking a highly skilled Director, Investor Relations to join our team. As a key member of our executive team, you will be responsible for developing and implementing a successful investor relations strategic plan, interacting with the executive team, and managing day-to-day operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Develop and implement a comprehensive investor relations plan to enhance the Company's visibility and reputation among key audiences.
  2. Build and maintain relationships with institutional investors, analysts, and other key stakeholders.
  3. Manage the creation and dissemination of investor communications, including press releases, presentations, and other materials.
  4. Schedule and manage conference calls, webcasts, and face-to-face interactions with the financial community.
  5. Develop and propose short- and long-term goals for the Investor Relations function in alignment with overall Company strategies.
  6. Provide accurate, consistent, and timely responses to external inquiries from investors, analysts, and media.
  7. Assist in managing the Company's website, Intranet, and social media presence.
  8. Participate in and support the Company's ESG initiatives and activities.

Requirements:

  1. Bachelor's degree in communications, business, or a relevant scientific discipline; Master's degree preferred.
  2. 8-12 years of experience in investor relations and corporate communications in a public biotech or pharmaceutical company.
  3. Strong financial analysis, oral and written communication, and relationship-building skills.
  4. Proficiency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and social media platforms.
  5. Strong understanding of SEC laws and securities disclosure requirements.
  6. Ability to present complex scientific and clinical data.
  7. Outstanding organizational skills and attention to detail.
  8. Strong knowledge of the biotechnology industry.

Benefits and Compensation:

  1. Salary: $185,000 - $215,000 per year, depending on experience.
  2. Annual incentive bonus.
  3. Generous equity package.
