Job Description

PSCI is seeking a highly skilled Power Supply Design Engineer to join our team in the development of a new tactical power destruction architecture for a cutting-edge program.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and develop power regulation and distribution systems for custom advanced circuit card solutions.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration and testing of power supply systems.
  • Develop and implement power conversion, isolation, and grounding strategies to meet system requirements.
  • Conduct thorough analysis and testing of power supply systems to ensure compliance with MIL-STD-461 standards.
  • Work closely with internal stakeholders to identify and address design trade studies, evaluating cost, weight, packaging, and power benefits.
  • Develop and maintain detailed system level grounding diagrams with power isolation.
  • Collaborate with testing teams to ensure effective use of testing tools, including power supplies, digital multi-meters, oscilloscopes, electronic loads, and data acquisition devices.
Requirements:
  • 6+ years of experience in circuit design, electrical/electronics, power distribution, and power electronics.
  • Experience with complex analog and power circuit card design, including power conversion, isolation, and grounding.
  • Experience with power circuit analysis, input power filter design, and EMI/EMC testing.
  • Experience with Cadence PSpice or equivalent for circuit simulation and analysis.
  • Experience with Mentor Graphics/Siemens Xpedition or equivalent for schematic capture and layout.
  • Experience with Mentor Graphics Siemens power integrity analysis.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Self-starter with minimal direct supervision, able to effectively communicate and collaborate with a multi-disciplined team.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with MIL-STD-461 testing for electronics in conducted emission and conduct susceptibility.
  • Experience or familiarity with servo motor control circuit design and analysis.
  • Knowledge of basic mechanical/electrical concepts.
  • 4-6 years of experience with analysis, electrical troubleshooting, mechanical and electrical systems, electronic testing, and knowledge of electrical technology.
