Overview

  • We are seeking a skilled Power Supply Design Engineer to contribute to the innovative design of tactical power systems and grounding solutions within advanced program areas.
  • The selected candidate will be responsible for developing power regulation and distribution strategies for customized advanced circuit card solutions.
  • The ideal applicant will possess strong communication skills and demonstrate the ability to work autonomously in a fast-paced design environment.
  • Essential experience includes complex analog and power circuit card design, focusing on power conversion, isolation, grounding, and power distribution for sensor systems.


Essential Skills and Experience:

  • Proficiency in complex analog and power circuit card design.
  • Experience in power circuit analysis.
  • Knowledge of input power filter design and E3 (EMI, EMC, etc.) for advanced electronic circuit cards.
  • Ability to design power filters and isolation systems compliant with MIL-STD-461 for electronics regarding conducted emissions and susceptibility.
  • Experience in analyzing electronic system power consumption and dissipation.
  • Expertise in system grounding and the capability to create comprehensive system-level grounding diagrams with power isolation.
  • Familiarity with CCA integration and testing tools, including power supplies, Digital Multi-Meters, Oscilloscopes, Electronic Loads, and Data Acquisition devices.
  • Ability to conduct design trade studies, evaluating cost, weight, packaging, and power benefits.
  • Experience in selecting parts and materials for CCA designs.
  • Competence in capturing flowed and derived requirements for CCA designs.
  • Experience in deriving test requirements for CCA designs, including local and system power verification.
  • Proficiency with Cadence PSpice or equivalent for circuit simulation and analysis.
  • Experience with Mentor Graphics / Siemens Xpedition or equivalent for schematic capture and layout.
  • Familiarity with Mentor Graphics Siemens power integrity analysis.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of design engineers and internal stakeholders.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal oversight in a dynamic, fast-paced environment to meet project deadlines.
  • Self-motivated individual who can engage with team members and operate with minimal supervision.


Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with MIL-STD-461 testing for electronics regarding conducted emissions and susceptibility.
  • Familiarity with servo motor control circuit design and analysis.
