The City of Lincoln Park is seeking highly qualified individuals to fill the position of Full Time Police Officer. This role is responsible for maintaining law and order, protecting the community, and upholding the law.
Compensation and BenefitsThe annual wage schedule for this position is as follows:
- Start: $64,272.00
- 6 months: $67,560.13
- 12 months: $71,518.37
- 18 months: $74,277.11
- 24 months: $77,293.51
- 30 months: $81,770.90
The City reserves the right to place an employee at the two-year starting wage based on previous law enforcement experience.
Minimum QualificationsTo be eligible for this position, applicants must meet the following requirements:
- 21 years of age
- Legally employable in the United States
- High School Diploma or GED
- No felony convictions
- Valid State of Michigan Driver's License
- Meet all MCOLES employment standards
- Certified or able to be certified as a Michigan Law Enforcement Officer
All candidates must pass a background investigation, psychological and physical exam with drug screen.
Required DocumentsDuring the application process, we require the following documents:
- Copy of Birth Certificate or Certificate of Naturalization
- Copy of High School Diploma or GED
- Copy of valid State of Michigan Drivers License
- Transcripts of all college or university work completed
- Michigan Commission on Law Enforcement Standards (MCOLES) Pre-Employment Testing Results for written and physical agility tests
- Copy of MCOLES Training Certification or College Diploma stating MCOLES Certifiable
- Completed copy of the "Background Screening Application Form"
