Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced and skilled Social Worker to serve as our Associate Chief of Staff for Mental Health (ACOS MH) at the VA San Diego Healthcare System. This is a critical leadership role that requires a strong background in mental health care, strategic planning, and program development.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement overall goals for the Mental Health Care Line (MHCL) that align with VA, VHA, and VASDHS strategic objectives.
  • Oversee the clinical and administrative operations of the MHCL, ensuring integration of services and optimal care for veterans.
  • Manage a multi-million-dollar budget, including staffing, equipment, leases, and non-VA care services.
  • Collaborate with the Chief of Staff to monitor Patient Safety and Risk Management issues within the MHCL.
  • Develop and implement strategic plans to improve mental health care services and outcomes for veterans.
Requirements
  • U.S. Citizenship.
  • Unrestricted U.S. license at the advanced practice level and ability to provide supervision for licensure.
  • Master's degree in social work (MSW) from a CSWE-accredited school.
  • At least 3 years of supervisory experience in a mental health setting.
Preferred Qualifications
  • 5 years of supervisory experience in a mental health setting.
  • Proven ability to manage a substantial budget.
