Vice Chair and Associate Chief of Staff of Mental Health

Job Summary: We are seeking a highly qualified and experienced professional to fill the role of Vice Chair and Associate Chief of Staff of Mental Health. This position is a key leadership role within the Department of Veterans Affairs, and the successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the mental health services provided to our patients.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee all mental health services provided to patients, including inpatient and outpatient care, substance abuse treatment, and mental health intensive case management.
- Develop and implement strategies to improve the quality and accessibility of mental health services.
- Collaborate with other departments and services to ensure seamless care coordination and communication.
- Represent the Department of Veterans Affairs in mental health-related matters and serve as a liaison with other healthcare organizations.
- Provide leadership and guidance to mental health staff, including psychiatrists, psychologists, social workers, and nurses.
Requirements:
- MD or PhD degree in a relevant field.
- Board certification in Psychiatry or completion of an APA-approved clinical psychology internship.
- At least 5 years of experience in a leadership role in mental health services.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks and responsibilities.
Preferred Qualifications:
- National reputation for creative and disseminated contributions to academic medicine in mental health.
- Proven ability to attract and lead a group of innovative and productive clinicians, educators, and researchers.
- Track record of outstanding productivity and significant administrative and leadership experience.
