Position Summary
The VP of Finance is the senior finance and accounting leader within the Williams organization. Serving on the company's senior leadership team, his person is responsible for all aspects of the Finance function to include budget setting, forecasting, strategic planning, financial reporting & analysis, compliance, risk management, and accounts payable/accounts receivable. This person will play a vital role in partnering with business unit leadership to formulate and execute the company's strategic goals while providing all functions across the business the daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual financial data necessary to meet and exceed commercial, manufacturing, and human capital goals set by management. This person is a prime champion in motivating all levels of the organization to use good financial data rather than anecdotal evidence or "best guesses" to run the business. In addition, the Director will serve as a key business partner in owning and directing assorted projects related to Finance, continuous improvement, organizational optimization, and other critical business priorities.
Primary Responsibilities

- Co-own the formulation, review, execution, and refinement of the business's short- and long-term strategies through comprehensive mastery and utilization of financial, commercial, and operational knowledge
- Leverage data analytics, financial modeling, and problem-solving tools to empower other members of the leadership team through financial fluency to inspire better business decisions and drive better business outcomes
- Support the commercial aspects of the business to include product margin analysis, pricing analysis, make vs. buy decisions, product/asset rationalization, working capital management, capital projects, contractual arrangements, negotiations, etc.
- Lead the budgeting and planning function to include consolidated roll-up of profit & loss statement, balance sheet, cash flow, capital spending, etc.
- Lead Finance team to ensure:
- Timely and accurate month-end and quarter-end close processes
- Effective and efficient quarterly and year-end external audits
- Local policy alignment and adherence in line with portfolio standards
- Compliance with federal, state, and local tax regulations
- Develop and validate cost accounting methods, set standards, review BOMs, set backflush points, etc.
- Direct preparation of financial analysis and variance reporting (e.g., current versus prior year and budget) to include meeting with portfolio leadership to discuss and review.
- Support selection, implementation, and organizational embrace of a new enterprise resource planning (ERP) system and serve as the main ERP champion by understanding and demonstrating its impact to the financial and operational performance.
- Oversee timely and accurate delivery of financial reports to include reviewing for appropriateness and accuracy while driving continual improvement of submission quality and a shortened close timeline.
- Possess direct responsibility for all facets of accounting and financial reporting.
- Analyze, consolidate, and direct all cost accounting procedures together with statistical and routine reports.
- Co-lead financial review meetings with portfolio leadership and stakeholders to include the Chief Financial Officer
- Collaborate with portfolio leadership, including Information Technology, to continuously drive improvements in financial reporting processes.
- Lead simplification of the administrative tasks of the team such as payables and receivables management, reporting & consolidation, and general business processes Oversee preparation and review of monthly operating financial statements compared to forecasts and budget.
- Assist with due diligence, local special projects, and portfolio assignments as needed.
- Other duties as required by local or portfolio leadership.
Education, Experience & Qualifications
- Minimum
- Bachelor of Arts/Science in Finance, Accounting or Business Administration
- At least ten years relevant finance experience in a substantially similar industry
- At least five years in a finance/accounting management role to include managing a team in a matrix organization.
- At least three years cost accounting experience for a manufacturing firm
- Preferred
- Master of Business Administration with a relevant concentration
- Current or recently lapse credentials as Certified Public Accountant
- Fifteen or more years relevant finance experience in discrete manufacturing
- Fifteen or more years relevant finance experience support multiple P&Ls
- Ten or more years managing a finance/accounting team within a portfolio of companies
- Comprehensive knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) to ensure financial statements, budgeting & forecasting, and internal controls are compliant with industry, company, and portfolio standards.
- Strong data analytical skills to include financial modeling and forecasting.
- Mastery of digital financial tools such as PowerBI, data warehouses, and financial consolidation tools
- Ability to identify and articulate problems, collect data, recognize and communicate facts, and draw valid conclusions which drive business decisions and positive outcomes.
- Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and effectively manage in the face of multiple abstract and concrete variables.
- Mastery of articulating complex financial data in a manner than non-financial professional can understand, digest, and integrate into their wheelhouses.
- Comfort with reviewing for fit, selecting, implementing, and managing a comprehensive ERP.
- Excellent written, verbal, communication, and good interpersonal skills
- Advanced user in Microsoft Office applications to include Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OneDrive, SharePoint, and Teams
- Strong abilities using XLOOKUP, pivot tables, and other spreadsheet functionality to manipulate, analyze, and take action on financial data
