Job Title: Commercial Services Business Development Officer

Join Central Bank of St. Louis as a Commercial Services Business Development Officer and take on a challenging role that requires strong business development and relationship building skills. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for identifying and pursuing new business opportunities, building relationships with existing customers, and developing a business development marketing plan to drive growth and revenue.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Prospect for new relationships and deepen existing ones through effective sales techniques and relationship management skills.
  • Acquire business in commercial deposits, commercial payments, business credit card, merchant services, and commercial services products.
  • Develop a business development marketing plan to generate new relationships and cross-sell various bank products and services.
  • Conduct sales calls, perform consultative business process reviews, and identify prospect goals and objectives for process improvement and efficiency goals.
  • Negotiate contractual terms and pricing options to provide an acceptable return to the bank while yielding pricing advantages for the customer.
  • Source own leads, set own appointments, and follow up while consistently following a program of conducting scheduled sales calls and site visits to prospects and existing business customers.
  • Develop and maintain a thorough working knowledge of Central Bank's products, operations, and organization, and communicate this understanding to others when appropriate.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
  • Business development and relationship building experience required with a proven track record for sales and negotiation success.
  • Business development experience and background in business banking, treasury management/cash management, and commercial deposits preferred.
  • Strong understanding of business concepts including accounts payable, purchasing, and accounting systems desired.
  • Confidence and willingness to go out on solo and group sales calls.
  • Ability to work with and train other new cash management business development officers.
  • Excellent verbal, listening, and communication skills.
  • Strong customer relations skills and ability to work with employees and customers in a cooperative manner.
  • Ability to identify client needs, present banking solutions, and bank products.
  • Ability to recognize closing opportunities and retain and grow customer relationships.
  • Possess strong organizational and judgment skills, with an attention to detail.
  • Ability to make decisions, work independently, handle confidential information, and manage multiple tasks.
  • Desire to be actively involved in community networking activities to identify and capitalize on new business development opportunities.
