Pediatric Surgery Advanced Practice Professional

We are seeking a highly skilled Pediatric Surgery Advanced Practice Professional to join our team at the University of Michigan. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and contributing to the advancement of our institution.

Responsibilities
  • Participate in patient care conferences and peer quality review with attending and other staff members to assure quality patient care.
  • Function as part of a multidisciplinary team with physicians, RNs, a pharmacist, dieticians, fellows, residents and administrative support staff.
  • Assist with traumas and perform various procedures as assigned by the supervising physician.
  • Oversee and coordinate discharge planning needs, review of studies/lab results, and update families about care plans, explain diagnoses/surgical care.
Requirements
  • Current licensure to practice as a Registered Nurse and Nurse Practitioner specialty certification in the State of Michigan.
  • Graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner program.
  • Certification as a Nurse Practitioner recognized by the National Council of State Boards of Nursing (NCSBN).
  • Current specialty certification as an Acute Care Pediatric Nurse Practitioner (PNP-AC).
  • At least 1 year of clinical advanced practice provider experience in pediatric inpatient setting.
