POSITION SUMMARY

Cannery Hall stands as a prominent independent music venue in Nashville, dedicated to fostering the growth of emerging artists and providing unforgettable experiences for both performers and attendees. Our mission is to celebrate creativity, diversity, and authenticity within the music community.

The Senior Financial Analyst plays a crucial role in supporting the financial operations of Cannery Hall. Reporting directly to the General Manager, this position is responsible for maintaining comprehensive financial records, conducting thorough account reconciliations, assisting in budget preparation and financial closing processes, and performing internal audits. This role is essential for tracking accounts receivable, accounts payable, tax obligations, and other financial activities.

NOTE: Candidates must reside within the Nashville area. We seek a finance professional with a strong background in the hospitality or music entertainment sectors.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Manage and maintain the general ledger.
  2. Conduct general cost accounting and related financial duties.
  3. Code invoices, establish new accounts, reconcile accounts, and finalize monthly financial statements.
  4. Prepare monthly balance sheets, income statements, and profit and loss reports.
  5. Reconcile bank accounts, verify deposits, and respond to banking inquiries.
  6. Reconcile cash disbursements, payroll, customer accounts, and other financial accounts; oversee accounts receivable collections.
  7. Verify and process payments for accounts payable, ensuring charges are allocated to the correct accounts.
  8. Assist external auditors by providing necessary account information and documentation for annual audits.
  9. Prepare and submit tax returns to federal, state, and local agencies.
  10. Collaborate with the M3 software vendor to ensure the accounting software systems are maintained effectively.
  11. Oversee purchasing and invoicing processes.
  12. Stay informed about accepted accounting practices and procedures.
  13. Prepare financial statements and budgets according to established timelines.
  14. Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to enhance internal controls.
  15. Ensure compliance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).
  16. Perform additional duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

Required Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or a related field.
  • A minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in the hospitality or music entertainment industry.
  • CPA or CMA certification is preferred.
