Accounts Receivable Processor Job Description

American Welding & Gas, Inc. is seeking a skilled Accounts Receivable Processor to join our Credit and Collections Team in Raleigh, NC.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Process Customer Payments: Accurately process customer payments, cash sales, and credit card payments.
  • Resolve Customer Issues: Research and resolve customer account issues, including overpayments and discrepancies.
  • Maintain Customer Files: Update customer files, including name or address changes, mergers, or mailing attentions.
  • Communicate with Customers: Draft correspondence for standard past-due accounts and collections, and contact delinquent accountholders to request payment.
  • Generate Reports: Create reports regarding the status of customer accounts as requested.
Requirements:
  • Excellent Communication Skills: Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Technical Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or related software, as well as other accounting software programs.
  • Organizational Skills: Demonstrate excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Education and Experience: High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate's or bachelor's degree in accounting preferred; at least two years of related experience required.
Physical Requirements:
  • Prolonged Sitting: Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Lifting: Must be able to lift to 15 pounds at times.
