Position Overview

Epiphany School is seeking a dedicated part-time Educational Support Specialist for our Lower School division, focusing on first-grade classrooms. The ideal candidate will collaborate with lead educators and specialists to provide a diverse range of instructional support and daily activities. Responsibilities include assisting in curriculum delivery, managing educational resources, engaging with students, and facilitating various teaching and learning activities in both homeroom and specialist settings. Participation in professional development and school community events is also expected.

Key Responsibilities

Main Duties
  • Support lead and specialist educators in curriculum planning and implementation
  • Engage with students in whole-class, small group, and individual settings
  • Assist in maintaining effective classroom management
  • Serve as the classroom lead in the absence of the lead educator; instruct students directly during co-teaching and enrichment sessions
  • Collaborate with the teaching team on curriculum alignment and thematic planning
  • Participate in our Professional Learning Community to enhance educational practices
  • Employ equitable teaching strategies that cater to all learners
  • Prepare and organize classroom materials and supplies
  • Support the student assessment process
  • Assist educators and learning specialists in identifying individual student needs
  • Help coordinate and oversee educational activities, including field trips
  • May accompany lead educators during parent conferences
Additional Responsibilities
  • Provide supervision during lunch and recess
  • Engage in professional development opportunities within the school and broader educational community
  • Participate in school events related to admissions, development, and community engagement
  • Contribute to committees and provide input on school-wide decisions
Qualifications
  • Commitment to collaboration and continuous learning, with expertise in elementary education best practices
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or a combination of education and experience preferred
  • Teaching certification and endorsement in relevant grade levels preferred
  • Experience working with children in PreK-5, particularly in third grade, is advantageous
  • Strong oral, written, and presentation skills in English
  • Excellent interpersonal and conflict resolution abilities
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and comfort working in a digital environment
  • Must be proactive, resourceful, organized, and collaborative
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks while maintaining professionalism in a dynamic environment

Compensation & Benefits

The hourly wage for this position is competitive and based on the school's instructional assistant pay scale, reflecting years of experience. While this role does not include a full benefits package, it does offer:
