Job Title: Continuing Education Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Continuing Education Specialist to join our team at the University of Washington's Department of Emergency Medicine. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for the organization and management of our Paramedic Training Program, ensuring that our students receive the highest quality education and training.

Responsibilities:
  • Organize and support Advanced Cardiac Life Support and Pediatric Advanced Life Support classes.
  • Directly manage ongoing training of King County Paramedics, including curriculum development, execution of drills, and educational offerings.
  • Facilitate advanced airway laboratory for University of Washington graduate paramedics.
  • Develop and implement comprehensive project plans with timelines, milestones, and deliverables.
  • Coordinate with stakeholders to define project goals, objectives, and scope.
  • Monitor project progress and make adjustments for timely completion.
  • Prepare necessary handouts, training aids, and equipment for each session.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree with major course work in nursing or a closely related field and a minimum of six to eight years' applicable work experience with a minimum of two years' experience as a trainer/educator.
  • Completion of an accredited nursing education program.
  • Valid Washington state nursing license.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Emergency Medicine Service training credentials.
  • Paramedic certification (Washington state and/or National Registry) current within the last five years.
  • Knowledgeable about methods of instruction, testing and evaluation of students.
  • Commitment to self-continuing education in Prehospital Medicine and leadership/administration.
  • Curriculum development experience reflecting a diverse student base.
  • Public speaking skills.
