Overview of the Role:
The selected candidate will operate CT scanners and other imaging equipment under direct supervision, ensuring the production of high-quality diagnostic images. The role includes performing various duties, including clerical tasks, while promoting teamwork and reflecting the mission and philosophy of Kaiser Permanente.



Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct diagnostic imaging procedures, utilizing the necessary skills and knowledge for the patient demographic, including routine, emergent, and special procedure examinations, adhering to departmental policies.
  • Provide effective communication with patients, explaining procedures and addressing any inquiries while applying safety measures to minimize radiation exposure.
  • Manage administrative tasks, including filing and computer operations, and assist with patient screening for contraindications.
  • Perform quality assurance checks and troubleshoot equipment as needed, ensuring the cleanliness and organization of the assigned workspace.
  • Assist with patient transport and participate in on-call schedules as required.
Qualifications:
  • Experience: A minimum of one (1) year as a CT technologist within the last two years, or at least six (6) months in an acute hospital setting within the past year.
  • Education: High School Diploma or GED is required.
  • Licenses and Certifications: Diagnostic Radiologic Technologist License (Oregon) or Registered Radiologic Technologist (Washington) is required at hire, along with certification from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists in Computed Tomography.
  • Basic Life Support certification must be obtained within one month of hire.
Additional Requirements:
  • Proof of continuing education is necessary.
  • Annual mandatory infection control education and training will be required.
  • Demonstrated customer service skills and the ability to communicate effectively with peers and administration.
  • Capability to perform all functions competently without direct supervision.
  • IV Certification must be obtained annually.
  • Ability to work in a Labor/Management Partnership environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Prior experience with helical and/or multi-detector CT technology.
  • Attendance at relevant courses in CT and cross-sectional anatomy.
  • Strong organizational skills, time management, and attention to detail.
  • Knowledge of cross-sectional anatomy and departmental policies.
  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Radiologic Science or a related field is preferred.
