Children's Ministry Director

The Church of St John The Divine is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Children's Ministry Director to lead our children's ministry programs. This is a full-time, benefits-eligible position that requires a strong passion for serving children and families, as well as excellent organizational and leadership skills.
Key Responsibilities- Provide direction and vision for Sunday school classes, ensuring a comprehensive and engaging faith formation experience for children.
- Oversee all Children's Ministry staff and volunteers, providing guidance and support to ensure the successful execution of programs and events.
- Manage the budget, payroll, and administration of the Children's Ministry program, ensuring efficient use of resources and effective stewardship.
- Lead Children's Ministry special events, such as First Communion, Jr. Daughters of the King installation, Holy Week, and parents' night out, to create meaningful experiences for children and families.
- Oversee Vacation Bible School, including volunteer recruitment and coordination, program design, curriculum, and logistics.
- Ensure all staff and volunteers follow Diocesan Safeguarding guidelines, maintaining a safe and secure environment for children.
- Support, encourage, and raise up new volunteers for Children's Ministry, fostering a culture of community and collaboration.
- Communicate Children's Ministry programming with parents and families regularly, keeping them informed and engaged.
- Design, select, and implement a wide range of Children's Ministry Curriculum, ensuring relevance and effectiveness in faith formation.
- Provide pastoral leadership to parents and children, offering guidance and support in their faith journeys.
- Work with parents to encourage and foster ongoing faith formation at home, empowering them to be active participants in their children's spiritual development.
- Collaborate with the Family Ministry team to create a comprehensive vision for family formation, ensuring a cohesive and effective approach to serving families.
- Assist in leading chapel at church Montessori pre-school, First Steps, and support Sunday worship through serving with modern and traditional worship teams.
- Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field, such as education, ministry, or a related field.
- At least 3-5 years of experience in Children's Ministry, with a proven track record of leadership and program development.
- Strong organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks and manage competing demands.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships with children, families, and staff.
- Knowledge of childhood development and experience designing age-appropriate faith content.
- Commitment to the mission of The Church of St John The Divine and the Episcopal Church.
