Position Overview

The Preschool Ministry Educator plays a vital role in facilitating enriching ministry experiences within the KidsLife Children's Ministry at Lakewood Church. This role primarily focuses on the Preschool segment, catering to children aged three to five years, including Kindergarten.

This position is under the supervision of the Preschool Manager.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Engage with children in a classroom setting, providing instruction, guidance, and support.
  • Attend to the physical, emotional, and spiritual well-being of the children.
  • Interact with all children at their respective developmental stages.
  • Deliver the designated curriculum with enthusiasm and energy.
  • Ensure high-quality ministry is delivered in the assigned classroom or role.
  • While the primary focus is on Preschool-aged children, maintain flexibility to work with various age groups and personalities as needed.
  • Follow all established Child Safety & Emergency protocols as mandated by law and Lakewood Church policies.
  • Actively seek opportunities to assist with transitions, address challenging behaviors, and take on additional responsibilities with a positive team spirit.
  • Exemplify a Christ-like demeanor at all times.
  • Ensure a positive experience for parents, children, and other KidsLife staff and volunteers.
  • Encourage volunteer engagement and commitment.
  • Arrive punctually at assigned areas, fully prepared and ready to contribute.
  • Maintain professionalism and a Christ-like attitude in interactions regarding sensitive and confidential matters.
  • Complete all assigned paperwork and classroom clean-up duties.
  • Participate in all KidsLife team meetings, staff meetings, and training sessions.
  • Demonstrate a high level of reliability and dependability in adhering to assigned work schedules.
  • Communicate any schedule changes promptly to all relevant staff, including the Preschool Manager, Coordinator, and Team Lead.
  • Perform additional related duties as assigned.

  • Able to regularly lift up to 20 pounds.
  • Able to stand and remain active for extended periods.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Minimum of 6 months experience in volunteering, daycare, or teaching.
  • One year of volunteering, daycare, or teaching experience is preferred.
The typical work schedule will be up to 20 hours per week, with the potential for 28 hours due to special events as needed.
