Position Overview
The Elementary Ministry Teacher is tasked with ensuring that effective ministry is conducted within the designated classroom as part of the KidsLife Children's Ministry at Lakewood Church. This role focuses primarily on the Elementary age group, specifically 1st through 5th Grades.
This position reports directly to the Elementary Manager.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Engage with children in a classroom setting, providing teaching, guidance, and support.
- Attend to the physical, emotional, and spiritual needs of children.
- Involve all children in the assigned area according to their developmental stages.
- Deliver the designated curriculum with enthusiasm and commitment.
- Ensure high-quality ministry is maintained in the assigned classroom or role.
- Proactively assist with transitions, manage challenging behaviors, and fulfill additional duties with a positive team spirit.
- While the primary focus is on Elementary students, maintain flexibility to work with children of varying ages and personalities as needed.
- Comply with all established Child Safety & Emergency protocols as mandated by law and Lakewood Church policies.
- Consistently model a Christ-like demeanor.
- Guarantee that parents, children, and other KidsLife staff and volunteers have a positive experience with KidsLife.
- Encourage volunteer engagement among others.
- Arrive punctually at assigned areas, prepared and ready to fulfill responsibilities.
- Maintain professionalism and a Christ-like attitude in interactions with parents and other KidsLife personnel regarding sensitive information.
- Complete all required paperwork and classroom clean-up as directed.
- Participate in all KidsLife team meetings, staff meetings, and area training sessions.
- Exhibit a high level of dependability and reliability in adhering to assigned work schedules.
- Communicate any schedule changes promptly to all involved staff, including the Elementary Manager and Coordinator.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.

- High School Diploma or GED.
- Minimum of 6 months experience in volunteering, daycare, or teaching.
- One year of experience in volunteering, daycare, or teaching is preferred.
