Job Overview

Electrical Consultants, Inc. is seeking a highly skilled Power Systems Electrical Engineer to join our Planning and Studies team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for performing a variety of electrical studies, including steady state loadflow, short circuit, transient analysis, harmonics, insulation coordination, and dynamic system response studies.

We utilize a range of tools, including PSS/e, PSLF, ASPEN Oneliner, PSS Cape, PSCAD, and EMTP-RV. While experience with these tools is not required, related experience in tools such as TARA, ETAP, SKM, PowerWorld, and EasyPower is considered applicable.

The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work on large-scale MW renewable energy projects, including wind, solar, and energy storage. Our team provides support to customers throughout the project lifecycle, from conceptual development to plant operating issues after COD.

We also provide services to large and small utility and industrial clients, including transmission level load additions, long-range plans, generation interconnections, black start analysis, voltage unbalance/line transposition analysis, breaker TRV assessments, insulation coordination studies, and more.

Key Requirements:

  • Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering (Master's or Ph.D. desirable)
  • 1+ year of experience performing electrical studies, including load flow, short circuit, transient stability/dynamic system response, HV/LV ridethrough, TOV, TRV, insulation coordination, and harmonics

Ability to acquire a Professional Engineer (PE) license is preferred. The successful applicant must meet ECI's auto insurance carrier requirements and may be subject to client-mandated drug and background checking. Applicants must not require sponsorship for employment visa status.
