Automation Systems Engineer

Xigent Automation Systems, Inc. is seeking a highly skilled Automation Systems Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our engineering department, you will be responsible for designing, programming, and commissioning control systems for our industrial automation equipment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and develop control systems for industrial automation equipment
- Program PLCs, HMIs, and other control devices in alignment with customer specifications and company standards
- Collaborate with electrical and mechanical engineering teams to ensure seamless integration of control systems
- Lead the integration of control systems with mechanical and electrical systems during the build phase
- Develop and execute system test plans, including I/O checkout and controls testing
- Oversee commissioning of control systems during installation, both in-house and at the customer site
- Provide on-site and remote support for system start-up, troubleshooting, and ongoing field support as needed
- Assist with Site Acceptance Testing (SAT) and provide customer training on control system operation
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Automation, or a related field
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in controls engineering, with specific experience in Beckhoff PLC, SQL Databases, and C#.NET programming
- Strong understanding of industrial automation systems, including sensors, actuators, motion control, and robotics
- Familiarity with electrical schematics and the ability to troubleshoot complex control systems
- Knowledge of safety standards and control systems (e.g., safety relays, light curtains, interlocks)
- Willingness to travel for system installations, customer support, and training
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with FillPro dispensing systems or similar automated filling systems
- Familiarity with data collection systems and manufacturing execution systems (MES)
- Strong critical thinking skills and the ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment
Work Environment:
This position involves both office-based engineering design and hands-on work on the manufacturing floor. Occasional travel is required for on-site system installations and customer support.
