Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Registered Nurse to join our Ambulatory Care team at the University of Michigan. As a key member of our team, you will provide exceptional patient care and support to our patients and families.

Responsibilities
  • Provide culturally sensitive and age-specific telehealth nursing care to adult medicine and pediatric medicine patients.
  • Assess patient needs and assist with medical issues related to health concerns.
  • Manage prescription refill requests and secure patient messages.
  • Adapt communication style to patients representing diverse personal, professional, cultural, and socio-economic backgrounds.
  • Utilize electronic protocol database to assess, educate, and document all health information in an accurate and expedient fashion.
  • Collaborate with providers, when necessary, in providing advice or determining disposition for patient.
  • Provide functional supervision to assistive personnel and collaborate with colleagues, other disciplines, and health care/community services to promote continuity of care.
Requirements
  • Current licensure to practice nursing in a RN.
  • Two (2) years current (within last 5 years) of RN experience in Inpatient, Emergency Department or Ambulatory Care nursing experience, providing care to both adult medicine AND pediatric medicine patients.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Primary care RN experience.
  • BSN.
  • Certification in Ambulatory Care Nursing.
  • RN experience with phone triage in an Ambulatory Care setting.
  • Experience as a charge nurse or equivalent management skills.
  • Bilingual.
Work Schedule

Hours/Week: 32 hrs. (0.8 FTE)

Day/Evening Rotation, Including weekends and holidays

This position is considered a Hybrid, and does have on-site shift requirements
