Role Overview

As a key member of the Capital Markets Pricing and Valuation team, you will play a crucial role in assessing Fannie Mae's Asset and Liability portfolios. Your expertise in financial modeling and analytical techniques will support our mission to deliver accurate market valuations and informed business decisions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with team members to develop cash flow models and pricing strategies that enhance Fannie Mae's fixed-income portfolios.
  • Engage in discussions regarding market trends and fixed income concepts with various stakeholders, including internal teams and external partners.
  • Perform daily fair-value pricing for the company's diverse portfolio, including loans, securities, and derivatives.
  • Conduct research on market dynamics and risk factors impacting portfolio pricing.
  • Implement pricing methodologies that align with current market conditions while minimizing operational risks.
  • Efficiently document and analyze large datasets using advanced financial engineering techniques.
  • Contribute to financial forecasting and analysis, including stress testing and scenario analysis.
  • Assist in model execution and interpretation, translating complex results into actionable insights for stakeholders.
  • Support model validation efforts by providing feedback on new models and analyzing performance metrics.
  • Conduct data validation and regression testing to ensure accuracy and reliability.
Qualifications

Essential Experience

  • 1-2 years of relevant experience in financial analysis or a related field.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in finance or a related discipline.
  • Experience in fixed income markets, including trading, portfolio management, or securities valuation.
  • A strong desire to pursue professional designations such as CFA, CPA, FRM, or CTP.
  • Basic understanding of mortgage-backed securities and financial markets.
  • Familiarity with fixed income analytics, including DCFs, OAS, and duration/convexity.
  • Strong analytical skills with meticulous attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Proficiency in Excel; experience with Bloomberg, Intex, and SQL is a plus.
  • Ability to work independently and conduct thorough market research.
