Job Description

Ryder is seeking a skilled Diesel Mechanic Technician to join our team in Raleigh, North Carolina. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for performing routine preventative maintenance, repairs, and diagnostics on heavy-duty vehicles.

Responsibilities
  • Perform vehicle maintenance and repair duties, including routine preventative maintenance and repairs
  • Diagnose and repair mechanical and electronic problems using diagnostic computer tools
  • Replace defective components as instructed
  • Perform facility maintenance duties, including cleaning and organization of the shop
  • Interact with customers/drivers to properly determine the nature of the complaint
  • Utilize key functions of the Shop Management System and electronic documentation available
  • Work in accordance with all federal and corporate compliance guidelines, including safety and DOT regulations
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Vocational or technical certification, post-secondary degree, or technical certifications preferred
  • Basic tools required
  • Demonstrated aptitude and applied experience in mechanical repair of automotive gas or diesel engines
  • Valid Commercial Driver License (CDL) Class A preferred
  • Ability to obtain CDL within 6 months after hire
  • Pass a Ryder Drug Test, DOT physical, Ryder road test, and Ryder Background and Motor Vehicle check
