Is This Role Right for You?
In this position, you will play a vital role in providing administrative support to patients, colleagues, and referral sources by managing and coordinating front office operations. The ideal candidate will possess a background in administration, showcasing strong computer skills and a commitment to customer service.
Your Responsibilities:
- Greet individuals as they arrive at the clinic.
- Inform patients about expected wait times and any potential delays.
- Conduct patient check-ins, ensuring accurate verification of demographic and insurance details.
- Complete registration for walk-in patients.
- Collect patient payments, including deductibles, copays, and co-insurance.
- Schedule follow-up appointments for patients during checkout, including casting, measuring, delivery, and care plan appointments.
- Handle incoming phone calls.
- Serve as a resource for Hanger clinic services, assisting with patient experience programs and support groups.
- Support the Revenue Cycle Management team in gathering any missing or additional patient information.
- Maintain precise and comprehensive electronic health records for our patients.
Minimum Qualifications:
Required:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- A valid driver's license and a driving record that meets Hanger's Motor Vehicle Safety Policy standards.
- A satisfactory score on a skills assessment, which will be administered during the selection process.
Preferred:
- Experience in a medical office setting.
- Familiarity with Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems, particularly NextGen.
- Knowledge of state and federal reimbursement laws, HIPAA regulations, and medical insurance terminology.
- Typing proficiency of at least 40 words per minute with accuracy.
