Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Field Service Technician to join our team at ABB. As a Field Service Technician, you will be responsible for executing service work as per work instructions and in accordance with ABB quality and safety guidelines.

Key Responsibilities
  • Installation supervision according to manufacturer's specifications of new equipment at customer sites
  • Interpreting maintenance manuals, schematics and software tools. Repairing equipment, utilizing knowledge of electronics and using test instruments, computers and hand tools
  • Leading workers in servicing and repair of ABB equipment. As required, instructing customer in electrical theory and operation of ABB Drives. Leading drive system commissioning projects
  • Consulting with engineering personnel to resolve unusual problems in system operation and maintenance
  • Advising management regarding customer satisfaction, product performance and suggestions for product Improvements
  • Learning ABB tools such as Drive Composer, Drive Windows, Control Builder, SAP, Concur, Outlook, Amex Travel
Requirements
  • Associates degree in a related field and minimum 2 years of related work/military experience required or High School diploma/GED and 4 years of related work/military experience required
  • Understanding of AC and DC drive systems
  • Experience performing field service engineering for AC and DC coordinated drive systems; and using test equipment including Oscilloscopes, Data Loggers, PDMA motor testing and CMC measurements
  • Ability to analyze and test system hardware and software performance applicable OEM integrated machines
  • Must be available 24/7 based upon business necessity. Up to 80 percent travel required
  • Ability to write detailed technical field service reports
  • Ability to troubleshoot, test, repair and service technical equipment
  • Comply with ABB and customer safety requirements. Complete all designated safety training on time
