Job Summary

Summit Medical Group is seeking a highly skilled Ophthalmic Technician to join our team. As a key member of our clinical staff, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and supporting our physicians in delivering high-quality eye care services.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare Patients for Examinations: Assist patients in preparing for eye exams, including taking medical histories, performing vision screenings, and administering eye medications.
  • Maintain Examination Rooms: Ensure examination rooms are clean, organized, and equipped with necessary instruments and equipment.
  • Assist Physicians during Procedures: Support physicians during minor surgical and laser procedures, including preparing patients, maintaining equipment, and assisting with patient care.
  • Train and Mentor Colleagues: Provide training and guidance to other assistants and staff members to ensure seamless delivery of patient care services.
  • Document Patient Information: Accurately record patient information, including medical histories, test results, and treatment plans.
  • Administer Medications and Tests: Administer topical ophthalmic or oral medications under the direction of physicians and perform diagnostic tests as needed.
  • Maintain Confidentiality: Ensure the confidentiality of patient information and maintain the highest level of professionalism in all interactions.
Requirements:
  • Education: High School Diploma or equivalent required; 1 year of ophthalmic experience preferred.
  • Certification/License: None required; Certified Ophthalmic Technologist (COMT) credential preferred.
