We are seeking a highly skilled Ophthalmic Technician/Scheduler to join our team at Vision Integrated Partners (Midwest). As a key member of our clinical staff, you will play a vital role in ensuring the delivery of exceptional patient care and services.
Key Responsibilities- Interview patients and document their medical histories with accuracy and efficiency.
- Ensure charts are up-to-date and accurate, reflecting the latest patient information.
- Utilize working knowledge of eye anatomy, disease, and ocular medications to provide informed care.
- Perform a range of diagnostic tests, including HVF, Lensometry, Keratometry, Tonometry, Visual Fields, Amslers, Muscle Fields, Pupil Exams, and Refracting.
- Operate EMR computer programs with proficiency.
- Minimum 1-2 years of experience in a similar position for an ophthalmologist or optometrist.
- Refractions, checking vision, identifying chief complaint, IOP, and various diagnostic tests (Fundus photos, OCT, Visuals).
- Current COA or greater certification is a plus.
- Ophthalmic experience with a focus on cataract surgery is preferred.
- Proficiency in BAT glare testing, A-scans, refraction techniques, eyedrop instillation, and obtaining pressure.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively with patients of all ages, particularly the elderly.
- Experience in surgical scheduling and patient counseling is highly desirable but can be taught.
