Ophthalmic Scribe

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Ophthalmic Scribe / Technician to join our team at Associated Retinal Consultants. As a key member of our clinical staff, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and supporting our physicians in their daily operations.
Key Responsibilities- Assist physicians with examinations and treatment of patients, utilizing ophthalmic techniques and knowledge of retina-specific terminology.
- Function as a scribe, accurately documenting patient information and medical history in our electronic medical record system.
- Prepare patients and rooms for treatments and minor procedures, ensuring a smooth and efficient clinical experience.
- Measure and record vital signs, including blood pressure, pulse, and respiration rate, as required.
- Perform basic visual field testing and patient education, as directed by our physicians.
- Instill eye drops and assist with the application of dressings, shields, and eye patches, as needed.
- Maintain accurate procedure coding and charges for all procedures and patients, ensuring compliance with regulatory guidelines.
- Keep examination and treatment rooms clean and stocked with supplies, and ensure accurate drug counts.
- Provide exceptional customer service and maintain a positive, professional attitude in a fast-paced clinical environment.
- High School Diploma or higher.
- Strong attention to detail and expert keyboard skills.
- Ability to understand and correctly spell medical terminology and numbers as percentages.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Excellent interpersonal skills to work effectively with others and provide superior customer service to patients.
This is a full-time position, with working hours ranging from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. Some Saturday work hours may be required, depending on location. The work environment is a clean office setting with moderate physical activity required for most of the work shift.
