About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Teen Program Coordinator to join our team at Buckner. As a key member of our staff, you will be responsible for developing and implementing program structures and designs for our Teen programs. You will provide a consistent and supportive environment for youth ages 13-17, supervising program staff to ensure compliance with monitoring standards and Buckner's mission, vision, values, policies, and procedures.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and deliver training programs for students on various job and life skills, including career exploration, leadership, communication, marketing, computer/technical skills, character development, goal setting, and educational success.
  • Develop and implement a holistic teen program that provides challenging enrichment activities in a meaningful and interactive context, offering opportunities for youth development.
  • Provide a supportive environment that stimulates self-confidence, personal expression, cultural sensitivity, trust, and respect for others, while attending to the physical, emotional, spiritual, and academic growth of youth participating in the program.
  • Guide the learning process toward the achievement of curriculum goals, establishing clear objectives for all lessons, units, and projects, and communicating objectives to students.
  • Organize and implement a program of study adapted to meet the individual needs, interests, and abilities of the student population, utilizing current and relevant subject matter.
  • Ensure a classroom environment conducive to learning, monitoring student learning and pace instruction accordingly, and ensuring expectations and standards are explained and understood by students and parents.
  • Provide ongoing evaluation for student progress through daily supervision, assignments, and pre-and post-testing, and provide progress reports as required.
  • Develop and implement systems for family involvement and engagement in the program, conducting regular parent meetings.
  • Assist in developing and implementing policies and rules governing student performance and conduct in the classroom.
  • Encourage students to maintain appropriate standards of classroom behavior and apply those standards in a fair and consistent manner.
  • Coordinate programming with other staff members as needed to assist students in meeting learning objectives, providing access to a variety of resources and facilities.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma (or G.E.D.) required.
  • Minimum of 2 years prior related experience working with children and families.
  • Prior related program and staff management experience required.
  • Ability to effectively manage personnel, with administrative skills including staff selection, development, motivation, scheduling, and evaluation.
  • Ability to develop, implement, and deliver curriculum-based training.
  • Ability to drive assigned vehicle(s) or personal vehicle, with appropriate state license, following all laws applicable, and providing proof of liability insurance and eligibility to be insured under Buckner's insurance policy.
  • Shining hope in others, with a friendly attitude and willingness to learn.

  • Bachelor's Degree in a related field preferred.
