About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Engineer II to join our team at American Systems in Norwich, CT. As a Mechanical Engineer II, you will play a critical role in supporting our submarine engineering work for the US Navy.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, develop, and implement mechanical systems for submarines.
  • Conduct technical analyses and evaluations to ensure compliance with US Navy regulations and standards.
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation, including design specifications, test plans, and technical reports.
  • Provide technical expertise and guidance to junior engineers and technicians.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest technologies and advancements in mechanical engineering.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in mechanical engineering, preferably in the aerospace or defense industry.
  • Strong understanding of mechanical systems, including design, analysis, and testing.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks.
