Position Overview

Key Responsibilities

Required Qualifications
  • Completion of high school or equivalent educational background.
  • A minimum of one year of experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Proficient in interpreting blueprints and process documentation.
  • Skilled in the use of hand tools such as crimpers, soldering irons, and wire strippers, along with measuring instruments like calipers and micrometers.
  • Capable of operating high-temperature ovens and furnaces.
  • Must pass a Visual Acuity Exam as required.
  • Willingness to obtain necessary certifications in Soldering, Brazing, and Electro-Static Discharge.
  • This position is limited to U.S. persons due to access to controlled technology.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Assemble components following detailed process sheets and specifications.
  • Conduct electrical, mechanical, and magnetic testing as necessary (e.g., dielectric, meggar, hipot).
  • Perform in-process testing and basic setup of testing fixtures.
  • Execute vapor blasting and manage inventory counts and validations.
  • Support prototype builds under the guidance of senior staff.
  • Collaborate with Engineering and team members to enhance layout procedures and process documentation.
  • Monitor material expiration dates to ensure compliance and quality.
  • Strive for continuous improvement in efficiency and product quality; maintain a clean and organized workspace.
  • Possess inspection certification as required; adhere to safety protocols and utilize appropriate personal protective equipment.
  • Assist in cross-training colleagues based on expertise.
  • Accurately complete all required documentation for labor tracking.
  • Perform basic transactions in Oracle as needed.
  • Report any issues to the appropriate personnel.
  • Keep team members informed about operational challenges or setup issues.
  • Engage with internal teams to communicate new processes or concerns.
  • May serve as the primary contact for audits.
  • May require FAA certification.
  • Handle troubleshooting tasks and other departmental duties as assigned.
  • Participate in team initiatives and support collaborative efforts.
  • Follow safety procedures and utilize personal protective equipment as per job requirements.
  • Embrace and uphold GE Leadership principles.
  • Perform additional duties as required.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • 1-3 years of experience in manufacturing.
  • Experience in assembly, soldering, and/or electronics manufacturing.
  • Familiarity with self-directed teams and lean manufacturing principles.
Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to perform repetitive hand and finger movements.
  • Occasional bending, stooping, twisting, crouching, and climbing.
  • Ability to sit for extended periods; occasional lifting of up to 20 lbs.; ability to push/pull up to 22 lbs.
Compensation and Benefits:
