Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Assembler/Production Technician to join our team at GE Aviation. As an Assembler/Production Technician, you will be responsible for assembling high-quality electronics for aircraft cockpits.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assembly and Testing
    • Assemble parts according to process sheets and print instructions
    • Perform electrical, mechanical, and magnetic testing as required
  • Quality Control
    • Perform in-process hi-pot testing
    • Perform basic setup of fixtures
  • Inventory Management
    • Perform inventory counts and verification
  • Team Collaboration
    • Assist with prototype or first-time builds with guidance from higher-level employees
    • Assist engineering and/or team in development and/or improvement of layout procedures and process sheets
  • Continuous Improvement
    • Proactively work to improve efficiency and quality of products
    • Utilize proper PPE, safety equipment, and follow safety procedures
Requirements
  • Education and Experience
    • High school education or GED equivalency
    • Previous experience in assembly and electronics manufacturing is a plus
  • Skills and Abilities
    • Basic understanding of blueprint and process sheet interpretation
    • Ability and willingness to use basic hand tools and measuring devices
    • Ability and willingness to operate high-temperature ovens and furnaces
    • Ability and willingness to pass visual acuity exam as necessary
Preferred Qualifications
  • Assembly and Soldering Experience
    • Preferred experience in assembly, soldering, and electronics manufacturing
  • Chemical Handling
    • Be comfortable working with multiple chemicals and/or gas compounds
  • Teamwork and Communication
    • Past experience in a self-directed teaming environment
Physical Demands
  • Continuous Use of Hands and Fingers
    • Ability to continuously use hands and fingers in repetition
  • Occasional Lifting
    • Ability to occasionally lift up to 20 lbs
