Job Summary

We are seeking a qualified Adjunct Instructor to join our Health Sciences department at College of the Canyons. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching courses in health science, developing curriculum, and contributing to the growth and development of our students.

Key Responsibilities
  • Teach health science courses to students of diverse backgrounds and learning styles
  • Develop and implement curriculum that aligns with departmental and institutional goals
  • Assess student learning and provide feedback to students
  • Participate in departmental and institutional committees to contribute to the growth and development of the college
  • Engage in ongoing professional development to stay current in the field of health science
Requirements
  • Master's degree in health science, health education, biology, nursing, physical education, kinesiology, exercise science, dietetics, or nutrition or public health
  • OR - Bachelor's degree in any of the above AND master's degree in public health, or any biological science
  • OR - Equivalency: An official transcript documenting successful completion of any Master's degree from an accredited institution of higher education AND official transcripts documenting successful completion of 24 semester units in the discipline at the upper division and graduate level, a minimum of which must be 12 graduate level semester units
Working Conditions

Assignments may include Monday through Friday (day and evening), as well as Saturday classes. Adjunct Salary Rate: Starting at $88.30 per hour.
