Position Overview
The City of New York's Department of Youth and Community Development (DYCD) is dedicated to enhancing the lives of New Yorkers through community engagement and support. We are currently seeking a Worksite Monitor for our OSOW (Out-of-School/Out-of-Work) unit, which focuses on assisting young adults aged 16-24 who are not currently enrolled in school and are seeking employment opportunities.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct extensive daily travel to perform site evaluations across various locations.
- Monitor and assess internship programs, documenting successes and identifying areas needing improvement.
- Utilize mobile devices to review worksite procedures, ensuring compliance with City, State, and Federal regulations.
- Perform site visits in diverse weather conditions, adapting to the needs of the program.
- Communicate program policies and procedures clearly to all stakeholders.
- Execute daily administrative tasks, including data entry and managing communication.
- Track program components and partnerships related to internship development.
- Prepare reports for program supervisors, highlighting urgent matters that require attention.
- Facilitate relationships with employers to enhance internship and employment opportunities.
- Assist in the creation of presentations that effectively convey program objectives.
- Review monitoring notes from community partners, addressing any discrepancies with supervisors.
- Conduct audits of program files to ensure compliance and maintain participant confidentiality.
- Demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills to document program activities effectively.
- Evaluate provider responses to assess sustainability for future program funding.
Minimum Qualifications
Applicants should possess:
- A bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution and two years of relevant community work experience; or
- A high school diploma or equivalent with six years of experience in community engagement; or
- Equivalent education and/or experience that meets the above criteria, with at least one year of direct experience.
