Position Overview
As a vital member of our healthcare team, you will provide expert clinical guidance for all facets of patient care within an acute inpatient environment, prioritizing patient and family-centered approaches.


Key Responsibilities
Utilize evidence-based practices and research to demonstrate clinical proficiency across the nursing process, including assessment, planning, implementation, evaluation, and outcomes. Collaborate with clinical advisors and peers to ensure adherence to organizational compliance and policies, including licensure renewal, mandatory training, employee health screenings, attendance protocols, dress code, patient confidentiality, infection control, and medication administration.

Maintain a thorough understanding of regulatory agency standards (JCAHO, DHEC, CMS) while delivering care within the guidelines of the South Carolina Nurse Practice Act. The role requires flexibility to accommodate significant shift work, including weekends, holidays, and on-call duties.

Unit Overview
The Surgical Trauma Intensive Care Unit is an 18-bed, state-of-the-art facility dedicated to managing the care of trauma patients requiring the highest level of medical attention following their initial assessment in the trauma bay. Our patient population includes individuals with severe injuries from motor vehicle accidents, falls, and penetrating trauma.

Core Duties
  • Assessment: Conduct thorough nursing assessments utilizing appropriate standards and tools, recognizing changes in patient conditions and establishing nursing priorities for the interdisciplinary care plan.
  • Planning & Outcomes: Develop individualized, culturally sensitive care plans based on current evidence-based practices, collaborating with patients, families, and healthcare team members to set measurable, attainable goals.
  • Implementation: Deliver direct patient care in a safe, timely, and effective manner, ensuring adherence to established care plans and protocols while delegating tasks appropriately.
  • Evaluation: Continuously assess patient responses to interventions, documenting progress and adjusting care plans as necessary.
  • Patient Education: Identify patient and family learning needs, providing education in a clear and supportive manner to promote understanding and engagement in their care.
  • Professional Accountability: Reflect on and evaluate personal nursing practice against professional standards, maintaining licensure and pursuing ongoing education to enhance community health outcomes.

Qualifications
  • Associate's Degree in Nursing
  • Minimum of one year of nursing experience as a Registered Nurse
  • Current SC RN License

Work Schedule
This position primarily involves night shifts.
