Position Overview

We are looking for a Construction Project Specialist to become a vital part of our team. This role will involve supporting project managers and estimators by executing various estimating and construction management responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities of the Construction Project Specialist

  • Analyze and interpret blueprints, specifications, proposals, and other construction-related documents.
  • Facilitate subcontractor bidding during the budgeting and bidding phases; prepare bid invitations, evaluate bids, schedule site visits, and create bid presentations.
  • Conduct detailed quantity take-offs and input data into spreadsheets for analysis.
  • Collect and assess subcontractor bids, addressing any discrepancies.
  • Manage and track Requests for Information (RFIs) from the field to the Architect/Engineer.
  • Maintain and disseminate project plans and documentation.
  • Assist the Project Manager/Superintendent with project timelines and necessary permits.
  • Support safety documentation and coordination on-site.
  • Prepare and distribute meeting minutes and materials for project closeout.
  • Develop and sustain resource information regarding products, vendors, and subcontractors.
  • Foster and maintain strong relationships with clients.
  • Coordinate preconstruction activities with clients, architects, and engineers.
  • Prepare project documentation and schedules to ensure effective communication with Project Managers.
  • Perform additional duties as required.

Qualifications for the Construction Project Specialist

  • A four-year degree in a construction-related field is preferred, or a minimum of two years of relevant experience.
  • Experience in supporting estimating, design-related tasks, or project management teams.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret architectural plans and specifications.
  • Familiarity with design-build, construction management, and hard bid projects.
  • Capability to monitor project expenses, conduct cost analysis, and generate project reports.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and internet applications.
  • Strong collaboration, analytical, communication, and time management skills.
