Position Overview:
This role is not remote and is based in our Moorestown, NJ office. The Onsite Client Support Specialist will engage with taxpayers on behalf of the State of New Jersey, providing guidance on qualifications and criteria related to Property Tax Relief programs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Taxpayer Communication: Respond to inquiries on the State of New Jersey Hotline concerning Property Tax Relief.
  • Provide assistance to taxpayers regarding filing deadlines and eligibility for Property Tax Relief.
  • Guide callers through the application process and ensure a comprehensive understanding of all Property Tax Relief programs.
  • Safeguard the confidentiality of taxpayers' non-public information.
  • Deliver approved responses to taxpayers in accordance with state guidelines.
  • Communicate calculated benefits and reimbursement amounts to taxpayers.
  • Inform taxpayers about the scheduling of their reimbursements and the mailing addresses for checks.
  • De-escalate calls from frustrated taxpayers and work towards effective solutions.

Application Management:

  • Correct errors on applications submitted to the State of New Jersey.
  • Collect accurate information from taxpayers to facilitate referrals or account corrections.
  • Review taxpayer applications for completeness and accuracy.
  • Employ problem-solving skills to achieve favorable outcomes.

Process Improvement:

  • Streamline the filing process for taxpayers.
  • Provide basic procedural information to taxpayers submitting tax applications.
  • Assist in calculating taxable and non-taxable income.
  • Update taxpayer addresses in the State's records.
  • Order paper applications for taxpayers upon request.

Qualifications:
High School Diploma required.
Successful completion of all New Jersey Department of Revenue assessments.
Proficiency in a Windows operating environment.
Basic keyboarding skills.
Prior experience in sales or customer service is preferred.
