Job Title: Qualified Behavioral Health Specialist

Unison Behavioral Health Group is seeking a qualified Behavioral Health Specialist to provide mental health interventions to assigned clients with severe and persistent mental illness.

Job Summary:

The Behavioral Health Specialist will provide individual community-based rehabilitative services and/or group rehabilitative services to maximize the reduction of symptoms of mental illness in order to restore clients to the highest level of functioning.

Responsibilities:
  • Provides Therapeutic Behavioral Services to an assigned caseload of clients in accordance with State mandates and established Agency and program policies, procedures, philosophy, and client individual service plan.
  • Documents all services provided and maintains records utilizing the electronic record in accordance with agency policy/procedure.
  • Maintains client confidentiality and ensures release of information is handled in accordance with federal guidelines and agency policy/procedures.
  • Participates in team meetings, supervision, in-service training and conferences according to established policies, procedures, and applicable regulations.
Requirements:
  • Requires an associate degree in social work, psychology or related field.
  • Will consider high school degree or equivalent with comparable experience.
  • Prior experience preferred.
  • Must demonstrate knowledge of mental illness, crisis management and the ability to establish and maintain therapeutic relationships with clients.
  • Must demonstrate the ability to define problems, analyze data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions and make recommendations.
  • Must demonstrate positive attitude, commitment to provide superior services and enthusiastic support for the mission of the agency.
  • Must establish and maintain effective working relationships.
  • Must demonstrate the ability to represent the agency in a positive manner when in the community.
  • Must be able to work with ill, disabled, emotionally upset and at times hostile individuals.
