Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Respiratory Care Practitioner to join our team at Children's Health (Dallas). As a key member of our healthcare team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the delivery of exceptional patient and family experiences.

Key Responsibilities
  • Direct Patient Care: Provide respiratory care services to patients, including mechanical ventilation, aerosol therapy, and oxygen therapy.
  • Documentation and Communication: Accurately document patient status, response, and interventions, and communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams.
  • Health Education: Provide health teaching to patients and families, and reinforce healthy behaviors to promote optimal patient outcomes.
  • Team Collaboration: Participate in multidisciplinary treatment teams, and contribute to the development of professional and educational activities.
  • Quality Improvement: Utilize research and quality improvement activities to improve clinical practice and patient outcomes.
Requirements
  • Education: Two-year Associate's degree or equivalent experience required; Four-year Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience preferred.
  • Experience: At least 2 years of job-related experience required; experience with trachea preferred.
  • Licenses and Certifications: BLS required; NRP (Plano and NICU core) 180 days required; PALS certification (excluding DPMSC Pulmonary Dept.) 180 days required; RRT recognized by the National Board of Respiratory Care (NBRC) and active Texas license required; RRT-NPS recognized by the NBRC (preferred for CT OR) 1 1/2 Yrs required.
