Position: Facility Maintenance Specialist - Ketchikan Head Start

Overview: The role of Facility Maintenance Specialist at Ketchikan Head Start is essential for ensuring a hygienic and secure atmosphere within the educational facility. This part-time position is responsible for the upkeep of the premises, equipment, and surrounding areas.

  • Adhere to all relevant regulations and standards.
  • Conduct cleaning and maintenance tasks to uphold the building's condition.
  • Follow safety and sanitation protocols diligently.
  • Repair furniture and equipment as necessary.
  • Collaborate with the Site Supervisor to enhance facility conditions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Monitor systems to identify potential issues.
  • Determine the source of errors or defects.
  • Assist in preparing classrooms and managing equipment storage.

Travel Requirements: Primarily local travel may be necessary, with some out-of-area travel expected.

Employment Qualifications:

  • Must be at least 18 years old.
  • Successful completion of background checks and possession of a High School diploma or GED.
  • Experience in carpentry and facility maintenance is preferred.
  • Compliance with training and health standards is required.

Preferred Experience:

  • Experience working with children and in a related field is advantageous.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook is desirable.
