Position: Facility Maintenance Specialist - Ketchikan Head Start

Overview: The role of Facility Maintenance Specialist at Ketchikan Head Start involves ensuring a pristine and secure atmosphere for the educational facility, its equipment, and surrounding areas.

  • Adhere to all relevant regulations and standards.
  • Oversee the upkeep of the premises through various cleaning and maintenance activities.
  • Guarantee compliance with safety and sanitation protocols.
  • Conduct repairs on equipment and furnishings as necessary.
  • Collaborate with the Site Supervisor to enhance facility conditions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Monitor conditions to identify potential issues.
  • Determine the root causes of errors or defects.
  • Assist in setting up classrooms and organizing equipment storage.

  • Strong attention to detail and ability to respond swiftly in emergencies.

Work Schedule: This is a part-time role, with occasional evening and weekend shifts required.

Travel Requirements: Primarily local travel, with some out-of-area travel expected.

Employment Criteria:

  • Must be at least 18 years old.
  • Successful completion of background checks and possession of a High School diploma or GED.
  • Experience in carpentry and facility maintenance is preferred.
  • Compliance with training and health standards is necessary.

Preferred Experience:

  • Background in working with children or in a related field.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
