Position Overview
We are currently looking for a CNC Machinist specializing in Mill and Lathe operations. This role involves the setup and operation of CNC and manual lathes and mills.

Key Responsibilities
As a CNC Machinist, your duties will include:

  • Operating CNC Lathes and Mills:
    • Setting up tooling and installing turning, milling, drilling, and boring tools according to CNC setup specifications.
    • Configuring tool geometry and cutter compensation values in the controller.
    • Adjusting work shift and fixture offset values for each programmed component.
    • Monitoring wear values in the controller tool table.
  • Loading and Machining Parts:
    • Interpreting specifications and desired outcomes by reviewing blueprints and mechanical drawings.
    • Understanding general machining practices and preparing for test runs to verify program functionality.
    • Setting up mill fixtures and vises, and creating custom fixtures/jaws as necessary.
    • Maintaining specifications by overseeing all machining operations and conducting visual inspections for flaws.
  • Measuring and Quality Control:
    • Reading engineering drawings and CNC programming.
    • Utilizing calipers, micrometers, and other measuring tools to ensure accuracy.
    • Understanding CNC G-code programming.
  • Maintenance:
    • Monitoring coolant levels in lathes and saws, mixing and adding coolant as necessary.
    • Maintaining a clean workspace by managing metal shavings and cleaning machines.

Qualifications:
We require candidates to have multi-axis CNC programming experience, knowledge of manual lathes, and a proven track record in technical troubleshooting and problem-solving. A degree or certificate in CNC programming or equivalent experience is preferred.
