The National Center on Sexual Exploitation (NCOSE) is dedicated to fostering a society where individuals can exist and express love free from sexual abuse and exploitation. The Sexual Justice Advocate Internship program offers a unique platform to engage in meaningful work aimed at preventing sexual abuse and exploitation. Interns will gain invaluable skills through hands-on experiences while actively participating in initiatives that seek to thwart exploitation before it occurs. Additionally, interns will have the chance to connect with prominent leaders in the anti-sexual exploitation movement and attend educational briefings. This program also encourages interns to explore their personal strengths and develop new competencies.

POSITION DETAILS:

NCOSE is in search of a committed and professional Compassionate Communications Intern to become a vital part of our team. This role is essential for facilitating our daily operations, which includes welcoming visitors, managing phone communications, and efficiently handling email correspondence. The Compassionate Communications Intern will also engage in various projects that support our mission to combat sexual exploitation.

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

  • Welcome and assist visitors at the front desk with professionalism and warmth.
  • Handle incoming phone calls, providing essential information and directing calls as necessary.
  • Maintain and update office databases and systems as required.
  • Collaborate with the People & Culture Manager on team initiatives and projects.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • A strong commitment to opposing sexual exploitation and alignment with NCOSE's mission and values.
  • Current university student or recent graduate.
  • Experience in crisis counseling or a related supportive role is preferred.
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and familiarity with office management software.
  • Access to a personal laptop and charger is required.
